Red Bull Gaming, the esports division of energy drink brand Red Bull, has announced that its League of Legends LAN event, Red Bull League of Its Own, will return this December in France.

Following last year’s success in Germany, Korean esports organisation T1 will return as a special invitee to compete against some of Europe’s top teams.
According to a release, a total of five teams will be fighting against T1, with Karmine Corp already confirmed for this year’s edition. Similar to other Red Bull esports events, the tournament is expected to feature unexpected matchups and rule twists, raising the stakes for teams and creating unlikely scenarios.

Taking place at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, the event expects to attract over 15,000 fans attending. Red Bull League of Its Own will be live-streamed globally on December 15th on Youtube and Twitch as well as alongside soon-to-be-revealed co-streamers.
The event will also see AGON by AOC join as the official Monitor Partner together with car brand Opel and gaming chair brand Backforce as sponsors.

This is the second edition of the showmatch event, which saw nearly 500,000 peak viewers last year, according to esports data platform Esports Charts. In 2023, T1 fought against Karmine Corp, Team Heretics, NNO Old, BIG, Eintracht Spandau and G2 Esports in front of a sold-out venue in Berlin, Germany. According to Red Bull, last year’s Red Bull League of Its Own sold over 7,000 tickets in three hours, showing great interest in a non-competitive tournament.

Red Bull is no stranger to creating esports events with special formulas that are familiar to esports fans, but still intriguing enough to create hype and interest. The energy drink brand previously hosted grassroots VALORANT events Red Bull Campus Clutch, the Red Bull Flick, a CS:GO deathmatch tournament, Street Fighter 6 tournament Red Bull Kumite, and Red Bull Solo Q, a solo League of Legends tournament.
