Portuguese esports organizations join FEPODELE to help foster growth
The Portuguese Electronic Sports Federation (FEPODELE) has announced the inclusion of four new esports organizations—SAW, Betclic Apogee, Rhyno Esports, and Impulse GW—to help advance the Portuguese esports ecosystem. These organizations will join the existing members For the Win Esports, Panthers Esports, Agency Clan, and 22 Esports.
FEPODELE’s announcement highlights its aim to collaborate with other Portuguese sports federations, universities, schools, and brands involved in esports to foster growth in the sector. The federation also plans to focus on community initiatives and grassroots development within Portuguese esports.
Following these additions, FEPODELE has restructured its corporate leadership. Pedro Mota (22Esports) will serve as President, with Joaquim Regadas (SAW) and Gonçalo Brandeiro (Betclic Apogee) as Vice-Presidents. The General Assembly Board will include Rui Jesus as President, Marcos Oliveira (Agency Clan) as Vice-President, and André Perdiz (Impulse GW) as Secretary. The Supervisory Board will be chaired by Simão Jorge (Rhyno), with Mário Ricardo Aires Lisboa (Gil Vicente) and Jorge Vieira (Luna Galaxy) as Vice-Chairman and Member, respectively.
SAW expressed its commitment to advancing the Portuguese esports scene by supporting players, clubs, and organizations, and working alongside FEPODELE to create new opportunities.
Pedro ‘Gnomo’ Mota, FEPODELE President, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome new clubs with substantial influence in the Portuguese scene. Our primary goal is to strengthen the Portuguese esports community and support our clubs and players, who are crucial to the esports ecosystem.”
This announcement comes amid growing interest in Portuguese esports, highlighted by a recent parliamentary conference on esports regulation supported by the Portuguese Socialist Party. Additionally, Esports Insider will hold its major esports, gaming, and creator economy conference in Lisbon from September 23rd-25th, featuring events such as the first Esports Leaders, ESI Hall of Fame 2024, The Clutch start-ups competition, and the ESI Film Festival.
