Riot Games shares information on the best-selling team VCT Capsules.

Riot Games has updated the rankings for the top-selling VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) team capsules released earlier this year. The announcement was made during the VCT Champions event in Seoul, South Korea. As of August 2024, UK-based esports organization Fnatic leads the VCT EMEA sales charts, followed by French teams Gentle Mates and Karmine Corp. In the VCT Americas region, Sentinels holds the top position, with Leviatán and G2 Esports in second and third place, respectively.

The rankings were posted on the official X page for VALORANT esports. The team capsules will be available for purchase until September 12th, two weeks after the tournament concludes. Specific sales figures for each VCT team have not been disclosed.

Introduced in February, the VCT capsules are in-game cosmetic bundles that include a Classic skin, an exclusive gun buddy and spray set, and a custom player card created in collaboration with the 44 VCT partner teams. Half of the profits from these sales are shared with the teams to help increase revenue for esports organizations and diversify their income sources. Last year’s profit-sharing VCT bundles generated $33 million (£26.1 million), with each team receiving an average of over $1 million (£800,000).

Riot Games also provided updates on the rankings for VCT Pacific and VCT CN. In VCT Pacific, Singapore’s Paper Rex is currently in first place, followed by Korean team T1 and Japanese team ZETA Division. In the VCT CN region, EDward Gaming leads, with BiliBili Gaming in second and Trace Esports in third. EDG recently gained attention for a successful live shopping campaign on Douyin (TikTok China), which generated $600,000 (~£471,600) from sales of over 74,000 team bundles.

VCT Champions has achieved a peak viewership of 653,468 and an average viewership of 376,964, according to Esports Charts. Although viewership is currently lower than last year’s figures, it is expected to rise once the playoffs begin.
